Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she received an Emmy Award. She is best known for her performance on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a domestic worker. Her upbringing was within a household with four other brothers. As a child she was aspired to become an official in the courtroom. After graduating from high school, and moving to New York in the 1980s and began to model, she was hooked. The role she was given was that of an innocent child in the 1981 soap-opera All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of films, television movies as well as dramas in the years since. Contrary to her career success, her personal one is not as happy and prosperous. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcoholism. In 2005, she lost custody of her only child she was born with.
