Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized as AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. She's recorded a variety of well-known cover songs, including Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which are widely loved. Katy Perry posted a video where she was announcing her endorsement of Runaway. This brought her some attention. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of finding a piano in her attic and becoming enthralled by the sounds it would produce. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to pursue music solely for pleasure or for the sake of development but instead, she should explore it. As a result, she began writing the music she composed herself. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. In response to her mother's advice that her children should not be aiming to become famous with the songs she writes, but rather be aware of the significance of them and the impact they have on society. As a young girl she started playing the piano, and when she was nine was writing music. It wasn't until her 14th birthday when she shared her story with her parents. It was never a dream to become Aurora. Aurora says she loves to compose songs. For her, the music she composes is her way of feeling everything.
